K Menu with Gnome folder and extra icons for KDE 3.2 or later.

If you install both KDE and Gnome then K Menu will become a mess with overpopulated submenus. Some distributions try to solve this by hiding many Gnome apps in KDE and most KDE apps in Gnome. I do not like that. I want to access Gnome apps in KDE and KDE apps in Gnome. So this is my attempt to both maintain desktop interoperability and unmess the menus.

SuSe like kickoff for Slackware.

It conflicts with genuine kdebase from Slackware.

It is tested on a fresh installation of genuine Slackware current with Xorg 7.1.

You have to install liblazy - use the version from the link provided.

On-Desktop-Logs opens a terminal (Eterm) on the desktop at the specified position. On the terminal we’ve “tail -f /var/log/messages” running. This script is based on On-Desktop-Terminal

This is a quick-and-dirty LD_PRELOAD hack that allows *some* Gtk applications to use KDE’s file dialogs when run under KDE.

The Gtk file chooser functions have been overridden to communicate with this KDE module/application.

After compiling and installing this, you can run Gtk applications in 2 ways:

A. call /usr/local/bin/kgtk-wrapper gimp

B. i. Create a symbolic link from the wrapper script to your application, e.g.
ln -s /usr/local/bin/kgtk-wrapper /usr/local/bin/gimp

In linux a lot of time you have to compile programs, so you open Konsole or your terminal and you do ./configure, make,etc.. Configure doesn\\\’t want to go because it needs another program, so you download it, and install it from sources. Another Terminal\\\\Konsole is open!
